Six sex abuse victims from Ireland, Germany and the UK arrived Sunday at the Pope's Vatican hotel , where they met the 77-year-old leader of the Catholic Church at dinner and celebrated¹ mass together this morning [Monday].

The Pope asked forgiveness for "the grave crimes" committed by abusive priests. And met later with each one privately².

Vatican spokesman Father Lombardi today saying the victims and the Pope were extremely moved by the encounter.

However other abuse survivors³ not at the meeting complained that it was "cosmetic⁴" and that the Vatican has not done enough to punish those who covered up the scandals.
