President Obama says overtime¹ exemptions² for salaried workers are outdated³.

Right now, full-time⁴ employees who make 23,660 or more a year can be denied overtime.

Under new regulations to be proposed by the White House, salaried workers who make up to 50,400 a year would be able to earn overtime.

Some small business owners view this an intrusion from the federal government that will drive up costs.
