President Barack Obama joined former president George W.Bush and many others at a memorial service to mourn the killing¹ of 5 Dallas police officers. Obama says the shootings would appeare to have exposed the deepest fault line of our democracy but that Americans must rejuect such despair.

Bernie Sanders has endorsed² Hillary Clinton as the Democratic nominee³ for president. Sanders called Clinton "far and away, the best candidate" to confront challenges facing the country.

Attorney General Loretta Lynch defended her decision not to prosecute⁴ Hillary Clinton for her use of a private email server as Secretary of State. Testifying on Capitol Hill, Lynch said she accepted the unanimous recommendation of career FBI investigators⁵ and attorneys.

2 commuters trains collided head-on in southern Italy, killing at least 22 people and injuring many more. Italy's premier's pledging a thorough investigation⁶.
