President Donald Trump¹ says he wants to get all U.S. troops out of Syria, but Israel and Jordan have asked him to keep some in the country. This comes as Trump's Pentagon chief, Mark Esper said Monday U.S. may leave some troops in Syria to secure oil fields and make sure they don't fall into hands of a resurgent Islamic State.

The nation's three biggest drug distributors and a major drugmaker reached a $260 million settlement with two Ohio countires over the dealdy havoc² wreaked³ by opioids. The settlement came just hours before the first trial over the crisis was about to begin Monday.

Texas governor Greg Abbott has issued a disaster declaration for 16 Texas counties following severe overnight storms including a tornado⁴ that battered⁵ parts of Dallas. Abbott's declaration makes state resources available to local officials, plus waives⁶ certain regulations to allow utilities to bring in out-of-state resources.

Zombies have taken over Key West, Florida. The annual 10-day Fantasy Fest celebration is underway with participants taking part in a variety of activites including a 'Zombie Bike Ride' and ZombieFest street Party on Duval street.
