 Fret¹ not thyself because of evil doers, Neither be thou envious² against the workers of iniquity³; 不要为作恶者心怀不平，也不要对邪恶始作俑者心生嫉妒；

For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, And wither⁴ as the green herb. 因为他们恰似草芥就要被割下，又如青苔就要枯干。

Trust in the Lord, and do good; So shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. 虔信上帝而行善；就能住在地上，真正得到滋养。

Delight thyself also in the Lord, And he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. 也以上帝为乐，他将你心里的希求赐予你。

Commit thy way unto the Lord; Trust also in him, and he shall bring it to pass. 你对上帝坦诚；也对他完全信任，他就会还你诚心。

And he shall bring forth⁵ thy righteousness as the light, And thy judgment⁶ as the noonday. 他将你的正义如光般呈示，你的判断将明如正午的阳光。

Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him. 依靠上帝，就要耐心等候。

Fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, Because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. 不要因那人一时兴旺发达而心怀不平，因为他是因邪恶才有所成就。

Cease from anger, and forsake⁷ wrath⁸: 止住怒火，戒绝愤怒：

Fret not thyself in any wise to do evil, For evil doers shall be cut off: 不要心怀不平，以致丧失明智乃至作恶，因为邪恶终将被铲除：

But those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth. 那些等待上帝的人，必将继承土地的饶富。

For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be; 尚有片刻，邪恶之人将化为乌有；

Yea, thou shalt diligently⁹ consider his place, and it shall not be. 纵使你详查他的住处，亦将化为乌有。

But the meek¹⁰ shall inherit the earth, And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. 但是，温顺之人将继承土地的饶富，以生活在安宁的丰饶中为乐。

 

1 fret   

v.(使)烦恼；(使)焦急；(使)腐蚀，(使)磨损

2 envious   

adj.嫉妒的，羡慕的

参考例句：

3 iniquity   

n.邪恶；不公正

参考例句：

• Research has revealed that he is a monster of iniquity.调查结果显示他是一个不法之徒。
• The iniquity of the transaction aroused general indignation.这笔交易的不公引起了普遍的愤怒。

4 wither   

vt.使凋谢，使衰退，(用眼神气势等)使畏缩；vi.枯萎，衰退，消亡

6 judgment   

n.审判；判断力，识别力，看法，意见

参考例句：

• The chairman flatters himself on his judgment of people.主席自认为他审视人比别人高明。
• He's a man of excellent judgment.他眼力过人。

7 forsake   

vt.遗弃，抛弃；舍弃，放弃

参考例句：

• She pleaded with her husband not to forsake her.她恳求丈夫不要抛弃她。
• You must forsake your bad habits.你必须革除你的坏习惯。

8 wrath   

n.愤怒，愤慨，暴怒

参考例句：

• His silence marked his wrath. 他的沉默表明了他的愤怒。

9 diligently   

ad.industriously;carefully

参考例句：

• He applied himself diligently to learning French. 他孜孜不倦地学法语。

10 meek   

adj.温顺的，逆来顺受的
