丹麦王室才女

Margrethe II (born 16 April 1940) is the Queen regnant of Denmark. In 1972 she became the first female monarch¹ of Denmark, and meanwhile she is a talented artist. Margrethe's name can be heard everywhere in Denmark, in people's chat or on TV. Every Wednesday, she will receive the Danish who comes to visit. She is more famous than any pop stars and enjoys a high prestige among the Danish people.

玛格丽特二世是现任丹麦女王，她于1972年成为了丹麦第一位执政女王。同时，她也是一位才华横溢的艺术家。在丹麦，闲谈中、电视上都可听到女王玛格丽特二世的名字。每个星期三女王都会接见前来探访的丹麦人，倾听他们的心声。她不是明星胜似明星，在丹麦人心中享有很髙的威望。

Margrethe received an all-around and strict education since she was a child. She learnt from her tutors coming from Britain or France as the formative education. Then She studied prehistoric² archaeology³ at Girton College, Cambridge during 1960-61, political science at Aarhus University between 1961-1962，at the Sorbonne in 1963, and at the London School of Economics in 1965. In order to be a competent monarch, she joined the army for a while to learn military affairs. King Frederik IX died in 1972. On the occasion of her accession to the throne on 14 January 1972, Queen Margrethe II became the first female Danish Sovereign under the new Act of Succession when she was 31.

Besides being a monarch, she is an accomplished⁴ painter, set designer, translator and she is also interested in archaeology. The Queen's talent in art can be tell from her works: her watercolours and oil paintings were highly praised when exibited in Denmark; she made book illus-trations for several fairy tale books; she designed the costums for pantomimes based on Anderson fairy tales. In addition, she has ever designed the costum and set for the Denmark Royal Ballet. When the master introduced her to the audiences, they applaused enthusiastically for her artistic⁵ contribution.

她不仅是丹麦女王，而且还是出色的画家、舞台设计师、翻译家，她还对考古学感兴趣。在众多的艺术领域里，女王都显露出难能可贵的艺术天赋：她的水彩画和油画在丹麦展出，博得一片赞誉；她为童话故事绘制插图，为《安徒生童话剧》设计戏服: 还为丹麦皇家芭蕾舞团出演的剧目制作了服装和布景。当芭蕾舞团团长向观众介绍这位女士时，观众对她的艺术贡献报以热烈的掌声。

She is a master of several foreign languages, French, English, Swedish, German and good at writing. Every new year's eve, she would give a speech on TV to her people. What makes it special is that the Queen will draft and revise it by herself to present her own style and show her cordiality.

玛格丽特精通法语、英语、瑞典语、德语等多门外语。她还擅长写作，每年除夕下午6时，她都要通过电视向全国发表新年祝辞，与众不同的是，对于这种文字要求很高的特殊演讲稿，女王一般都是亲自起草和修改，突显她的个人风格，以便更贴近百姓。

On 10 June 1967, Princess Margrethe of Denmark married a French diplomat⁶, Henrik, now the Prince Consort⁷ of Denmark. They have two sons, Prince Frederik and Prince Joachim.
