A:Guess what? Adam has decided¹ to quit.

A：你知道吗？亚当已决定辞职了。

B:What! He must be out of his mind. He was promoted to be the sales manager with big expected bonus last week.

B：什么？他一定疯了。上个星期他刚被提为销售经理，还有一大笔奖金呢！

A:I didn't believe it either,but I got it straight from the horse's mouth. Adam called me this morning.

A：我也不相信。可是是他亲口对我讲的。 今天早上他打电话告诉我的。

B:I believe he is going to set up his own business.

B：我相信他一定是要自己开公司了。

A:You know him well.

A：你真了解他。

B:It's my dream to work on my own. But I don't have enough start-up capital.

B：我也梦想自己开公司，可是我没有启动资金。

A:Why don't you ask Adam for help? Or you can try to play the lottery².

A：你为什么不让亚当来帮助你？或者你也可以去买彩票。

B:It sounds like a good idea.

B：听起来是个好主意。

1 decided   

adj.决定了的，坚决的；明显的，明确的
