Music video service, Vevo, which is owned by major labels Sony and Universal, is working on launching¹ an ad-free subscription² service some time this year.

On Wednesday, at the Code/Media conference, Vevo CEO, Erik Huggers, announced the plan. According to Huggers, Vevo videos would still be available for free on YouTube and other platforms.

The cost of the subscription plan wasn't mentioned; however, or how it would differ from YouTube Red, which is YouTube's ad-free subscription service.

YouTube Red costs $10 a month.
