A new patent application was recently discovered that shows the Apple AirPods case transformed into a wireless¹ charging station for not only AirPods, but potentially much more.

The wording of the patent feels intentionally² broad, but does imply that Apple devices such as the Apple Watch and iPhone 8 could take advantage of wireless charging using the AirPod case.

Apple has been intentionally vague about whether the iPhone 8 is going to feature wireless charging, and while this is no guarantee, this patent application does show that the Cupertino-based company is at least thinking about it.
