CNN reports the retailer² said Tuesday it was pulling the controversial clothing from its website in response to a tweet from conservative commentator³ Ryan Fournier.

Many Twitter users said they would boycott⁴ Walmart after photos of the garments were posted on the social media platform.

Walmart responded, "These items were sold by third-party sellers on our open marketplace and were not offered directly by Walmart.
