Hong Kong prosecutors have withdrawn charges of rioting and illegal assembly against ten people, including a juvenile.
The prosecutors said that there was not enough evidence to prove that the ten people had disrupted the peace or taken part in any riot. Forty-three people accused of involvement in the Mong Kok clashes appeared in court on Thursday. The riots took place in February when illegal street vendors clashed with law enforcement officers. Over 90 people were injured.
Hong Kong police had arrested 79 people by April 1st. Fifty-one of them have appeared in court so far. Some Hong Kong residents demonstrated outside the court demanding harsh punishment for the defendants.
