All ten miners trapped underground after a gas explosion at a coal mine in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province have died.

The local safety watchdog says rescuers have retrieved¹ all 10 bodies from the Xingyun Colliery in Jidong County.

The explosion occurred on Sunday morning. The cause of the accident is still under investigation².

China and Kazakhstan have signed deals ranging from nuclear energy to infrastructure³ construction, as the two countries move to expand their cooperation beyond oil and gas development.

The deals, reportedly worth more than 14 billion US dollars, were inked during Premier⁴ Li Keqiang's visit to Astana, where he will also attend a prime ministers' meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

On Sunday, the premier held separate talks with President Nursultan Nazarbayev and Prime Minister Karim Masimov, and attended a meeting of China and Kazakh business leaders.

Li Keqiang stressed that bilateral⁵ cooperation will not only focus on the energy sector⁶, but also in other fields such as equipment manufacturing, agriculture, and deep processing of resources.

The countries also agreed to tap into the potential of hi-tech cooperation and further advance aerospace⁷ cooperation.
