My precious.

我的宝贝。

The Ring came to the creature Gollum, who took it deep into the tunnels of the Misty¹ Mountains.

至尊魔戒落入咕鲁手中被他带到迷雾山脉的洞穴中。

And there it consumed him.

他的身心完全被魔戒占据。

It came to me. My own. My love. My own. My precious.

终于来了。这是我的，我的爱，我一个人的。我的宝贝。

The Ring brought to Gollum unnatural² long life.

至尊魔戒让咕鲁得到违反自然的长寿。

For 500 years it poisoned his mind. And in the gloom of Gollum's cave, it waited.

五百年来它扭曲他的心智。在咕鲁阴暗的洞穴中静静地等待。

Darkness crept back into the forests of the world.

黑暗再度笼罩大地。

Rumor³ grew of a shadow in the East, whispers of a nameless fear.

在东方谣言四起人们心中产生无言的恐惧。

And the Ring of Power perceived, its time had now come. It abandoned Gollum.

于是至尊魔戒知道它即将再度现身。它舍弃了咕鲁。

But something happened then the Ring did not intend.

但是出乎至尊魔戒的意料之外。

It was picked up by the most unlikely creature imaginable. What's this? A Hobbit. Bilbo Baggins of the Shire. A ring.

它被一个料想不到的人捡到。这是什么？一个哈比人。夏尔的比尔博·巴金斯。一只戒指。

Lost! My precious is lost!

不见了！我的宝贝不见了！

For the time will soon come, when Hobbits will shape the fortunes of all.

不久的将来哈比人将决定世界的命运。

1 misty   

adj.雾蒙蒙的，有雾的
