Don't tempt¹ me, Frodo! I dare not take it. Not even to keep it safe.

Understand, Frodo, I would use this Ring from a desire to do good.

But through me, it would wield² a power too great and terrible to imagine.

But it cannot stay in the Shire! -No. No, it can't.

You must leave. And leave quickly.

1 tempt
