 　　Lord Beric is as much a hero as Sir Loras. He’s ever so brave and gallant¹. “要论谁是真英雄，贝里大人也不输洛拉斯爵士啊，你瞧他那英勇高贵的模样。”

　　I suppose, Sansa said doubtfully. “也是啦。”珊莎有些怀疑地说。

　　Beric Dondarrion was handsome enough, but he was awfully² old, almost twenty-two; the Knight³ of Flowers would have been much better. 贝里·唐德利恩是挺英俊，但他实在有点“老”，都快满二十二岁的人了。还是百花骑士比较合适。

　　Of course, Jeyne had been in love with Lord Beric ever since she had first glimpsed him in the lists.  话说回来，当初在竞技场上珍妮对贝里伯爵可是一见钟情。

　　Sansa thought she was being silly;  珊莎觉得珍妮真蠢，

　　Jeyne was only a steward’s daughter, after all, and no matter how much she mooned after him, 她不过是个管家的女儿，不管多么痴心妄想，

　　Lord Beric would never look at someone so far beneath him, even if she hadn’t been half his age. 贝里大人也绝不可能青睐地位比他低这么多的对象，更何况她的岁数只有他的一半。

　　It would have been unkind to say so, however, so Sansa took a sip⁴ of milk and changed the subject. 然而这话说出口太伤人，因此珊莎啜了口牛奶，岔开话题。

　　"I had a dream that Joffrey would be the one to take the white hart," she said. “我梦见乔佛里会得到那头白鹿喔。”她说。

　　It had been more of a wish, actually, but it sounded better to call it a dream.  事实上这不过是个小小的希望，但说成梦听起来比较好。

　　Everyone knew that dreams were prophetic. 大家都知道梦是预言和先兆。

　　White harts were supposed to be very rare and magical, and in her heart she knew her gallant prince was worthier⁵ than his drunken father. 传说白鹿非常稀少，具有魔力，她心里非常清楚她那英勇的王子比他的酒鬼老爸更有资格得到它。

　　A dream? Truly? Did Prince Joffrey just go up to it and touch it with his bare hand and do it no harm? “你梦见了？真的吗？乔佛里王子是不是就走上前去，伸手摸摸它，不让它受任何伤害呢？”

　　No, Sansa said. "He shot it with a golden arrow and brought it back for me."  “才不是，”珊莎道，“他用一支黄金箭把它射死，然后把它带回来给我。”

　　In the songs, the knights⁶ never killed magical beasts, they just went up to them and touched them and did them no harm, 歌谣里的骑士从不会杀害魔法动物，他们都是走上前去伸手抚摸它们，绝不加以伤害，

　　but she knew Joffrey liked hunting, especially the killing⁷ part.  但她知道乔佛里喜欢打猎，尤其是杀戮的部分。
