President Donald Trump¹ is bemoaning² the number of Americans who have died due to the coronavirus, while also pointing signs of hope. The President says "in the midst of grief of pain" the country is seeing "clear signs our aggressive strategy" is working.

New York governor Andrew Cuomo provided a mix of grim and encouraging numbers about the coronavirus outbreak in the Empire State. The state recorded 777 new deaths, down slightly from the day before. Cuomo said the number of people in intensive care is down for the first time since March and hospitalizations are slowing.
