 　　The Fairy clapped her hands twice.

　　仙女拍了两下手掌。

　　A magnificent Poodle appeared, walking on his hind¹ legs just like a man.

　　来了一只华丽的贵宾犬，它像人那样用后腿直立行走。

　　He was dressed in court livery.

　　这只贵宾犬身穿法院的制服。

　　A tricorn trimmed with gold lace was set at a rakish angle over a wig² of white curls that dropped down to his waist.

　　一个用金蕾丝花边的三角帽被戴成了一个俏皮的角度，底下的假的白色卷发垂到他的腰。

　　He wore a jaunty³ coat of chocolate-colored velvet⁴, with diamond buttons, and with two huge pockets which were always filled with bones, dropped there at dinner by his loving mistress.

　　他穿着一件漂亮的巧克力色天鹅绒外套,上面嵌着钻石纽扣,两个巨大的口袋里装满了骨头,是钟爱的女主人晚饭时赏它的。

　　Breeches of crimson⁵ velvet, silk stockings, and low, silver-buckled slippers⁶ completed his costume.

　　His tail was encased in a blue silk covering, which was to protect it from the rain.

　　"Come, Medoro," said the Fairy to him. "Get my best coach ready and set out toward the forest.

　　On reaching the oak tree, you will find a poor, half-dead Marionette⁷ stretched out on the grass.

　　The Poodle, to show that he understood, wagged his silk-covered tail two or three times and set off at a quick pace.

　　贵宾犬用后面那个盖着蓝绸子的尾巴摇了三四次表示它明白，然后快速出发了。

　　In a few minutes, a lovely little coach, made of glass, with lining⁸ as soft as whipped cream and chocolate pudding, and stuffed with canary feathers, pulled out of the stable.

　　一转眼工夫，只见马厩里出来了一辆玻璃做的可爱小马车，里衬像掼奶油和巧克力布丁一样柔软，塞满了金丝雀羽毛。

　　It was drawn⁹ by one hundred pairs of white mice, and the Poodle sat on the coachman's seat and snapped his whip gayly in the air, as if he were a real coachman in a hurry to get to his destination.

　　车子用一百对白老鼠来拉，贵宾犬坐在驾车台上，欢快地在空中挥着鞭子，好像他真是一个急着赶路的车夫似的。
