 Other notable alumni include the former CEO of IBM company，John Akers; the founder¹ of FedEx, Fred Smith; Chinese graduates from Yale such as Jeme Tien Yow, an expert on railways and bridges and Ma Yin-chu who is the expert on population study. Up to now, almost 20 of the graduates from Yale have been awarded the Nobel Prize.

What is the most proud to Yale is Nathan Hale, a student from class 1773, known as an American national hero. The patriotic³ young man was dedicated⁴ to the intelligence-gathering mission during the American Independence War, only to be arrested and hanged to death. Before his death, he said that "I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country."
