Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan says his country is facing a wave of terrorism, and will use all its military and intelligence might to battle this. Erdogan spoke in Istanbul on Monday, two days after a suicide bombing in the city killed four people.
"Turkey has recently been facing one of the biggest and bloodiest waves of terrorism in its history. Since last July, the PKK, along with many terrorist organisations which have decided to act with it such as Islamic State, with no humanitarian and moral values, have been targeting our country with their attacks," Erdogan said.
Erdogan sounded confident that they will soon see results against the new kind of terrorism, by developing new methods to counter it. Saturday's attack in Istanbul was the fourth suicide bombing in the country's major cities this year. The two in Istanbul have been blamed on Islamic State, while other two in the capital Ankara have been claimed by Kurdish militants.
