A man has driven a truck into a crowd at a Mardi Gras parade in New Orleans injuring at least 28 people. Police suspect he was drunk and have taken him into custody¹. Earlier, in the German city of Heidelberg, a man was killed and two people were injured, after a car ploughed into pedestrians² outside a bakery. Police shot and injured the driver, but are ruling out terrorism.

Australia and Indonesia have agreed to restore full military ties after tensions in the relationship earlier this year. The prime minister Malcolm Turnbull and the Indonesian president Joko Widodo have met in Sydney.
