There might be a glimmer¹ of bipartisanship emerging on Bill Shorten's call for longer terms in federal parliament. The opposition² leader said he wants both major parties to embrace four year fixed³ terms instead of the three year terms we have now. The prime minister later called Mr Shorten to discuss the matter, indicating he might be open to the idea.
