　　The king groaned². For the last time, I will not name the Arryn boy Warden.  国王呻吟道："我说最后一遍，我不会让艾林家那小毛头继任东境守护。

　　He let the name hang there for a moment. The king frowned and said nothing. He looked uncomfortable. 他让史坦尼斯的名字在空气中悬宕了一会儿，国王皱皱眉，没有答腔，看起来不太舒服。

　　Robert kicked his horse back into motion and started down the ridge⁴ toward the barrows. Ned kept pace with him.  劳勃一夹马肚，朝山瘠下的荒冢驰去，奈德紧随在旁。

　　The king rode on, eyes straight ahead. Yes, he said at last. A single hard word to end the matter. 国王径自骑行，两眼直视前方。"对。"最后他总算开了口，仿佛要用这一个字来结束议题。

1 warden
