关于爱和幸福的想法

　　Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one so that when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to be grateful¹ for that gift. When the door of happiness closes, another opens, but oftentimes we look so long at the closed door that we don't see the one which has been opened for us. It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing² until it arrives.

 

　　也许上帝想让我们在遇到对的人之前遇到一些错的人，只有这样我们才能最终见到对的人，对上帝赐予的礼物抱有感恩的心。当幸福之门关闭的时候，另一扇门会为你打开。但是我们常常会很久注意那扇关闭的门，而看不到为我们打开的门。事实是我们确实直到失去的时候才会明白我们拥有过什么，但是我们也直到那一刻到来时才知道失去了什么。

 

　　Giving someone all your love is never an assurance³ that they'll love you back! Don't wait for love in return; just wait for it to grow in their heart but if it doesn't, be content it grows in yours. It takes only a minute to get a crush⁴ on someone, an hour to like someone, and a day to love someone, but it takes a lifetime⁵ to forget someone.

 

　　付出你全部的爱并不一定能让那个人也同样地爱你！不要期待爱的回报；如果你的心中没有爱，就等待它在你心中扎根，心甘情愿地让爱在心中成长。迷恋上某个人只要一分钟，喜欢上一个人要一个小时，一天就可以爱上一个人，但是需要一生的时间去忘记一个人。

 

　　Don't go for looks; they cheat. Don't go for wealth; even that fades⁶ away. Go for someone who makes you smile because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright. Find the one that makes your heart smile. There are moments in life when you miss someone so much that you just want to pick them from your dreams and hug them for real! Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do.

 

　　别在意外表；它往往不真实。别在意财富；因为它会有用完的一天。找一个能让你绽放笑容的人，因为一个笑容就能让灰暗的一天变得明亮。找个能让你内心愉悦的人。生命中会有某个时刻你会非常地想念某个人，脑海中会不断回忆着他的音容笑貌，渴求一个真实的拥抱！做你想做的梦；去你想去的地方；成为你想成为的人，因为你只有一次生命和一次做你想做的事的机会。

1 grateful   

adj.感谢的，感激的，受欢迎的，表示谢意的

参考例句：

• If you will help us, we shall be very grateful.如果你愿意帮助我们，我们会很感激你。
• He closed his letter with expression of grateful thanks.他在那封信的结尾表达了自己的感激之情。

2 missing   

adj.遗失的，缺少的，失踪的

参考例句：

• Check the tools and see if anything is missing.检点一下工具，看有无丢失。
• All the others are here;he's the only one missing.别人都来了，就短他一个。

3 assurance   

n.把握，信心，保证，（人寿）保险

参考例句：

• The young teacher lacked assurance in front of his class.这位青年教师在学生面前缺少自信心。
• He has a life assurance.他投保了人寿保险。

4 crush   

v.压垮，压倒，压服，镇压；压碎，碾碎

参考例句：

• This machine is made to crush the rock into powder.这台机器是用来把石头压成碎末的。
• You can't crush so many people into the classroom.不能让这么多人挤进教室。

5 lifetime   

n.一生，终身，寿命，使用期限

参考例句：

• He wrote many books during his lifetime.他一生著作甚多。
• During his lifetime his work was never published.他的作品在他的有生之年从未出版过。

6 fades   

（使）褪去( fade的第三人称单数 )； 逐渐消逝； 逐渐消失； （运动员、运动队、演员等）走下坡路

参考例句：

• Daylight fades when the sun sets. 太阳西沉，天色逐渐暗淡。
• When you turn on a transistorized radio, the sound comes on immediately; when you turn off, it fades out gradually. 你打开晶体管收音机，立刻就有声音，当你关掉它时，声音渐渐消失。
