生活中你是否还在为多年前的某个影响自己一生的决定叹息不止？中年男人迈克（马修·佩里Matthew Perry 饰）也是。
　　
25年前，17岁的迈克（扎克·埃夫隆 Zac Efron 饰）叱咤校园，是整个蓝球队的灵魂人物。本来可以顺利拿到奖学金直接保送大学他，却为了爱情而退出了人生最重要的一次出赛，从此他的生命中再也没有出现过高潮。

25年后他事业上的碌碌无为，家庭关系上更是处理的一踏糊涂。面对生活的压力，他常常怀疑自己25年前的那个决定。
　　
人生总是充满着奇迹，迈克在一次事故后居然变成了17岁时的样子。于是迈克在好友的帮助之下重新返回高中，去寻求一次改变命运的机会。遭遇朋友疯狂追求校长、与自己的儿女成为同学、以及无法克制自己对妻子的感情等一系列事件，迈克似乎最终意识到了什么。
　　
现在，重新面对和25年前一样的机会，他最终做出了让所有人意外的一个选择。
