In the last couple of days both sides who are coming to the end of nine months of agreed American brokered¹ peace talks, have taken backward steps, the Palestinians have made that gesture which angers Israelis and the Americans of seeking further UN recognition, Israel for its part says it won't now complete the release of 104 prisoners, in four batches² if you like, which were meant to happen over the life of those nine months of talks.
