【英音模仿秀】英国料理中兴

模仿文本： I run a small restaurant. Whenever I talk about it, some well-meaning soul will ask with genuine interest "What sort of food do you serve?" Well, I can't say it's French, Italian, Indian, Chinese or Mexican, so I'll ask him a question right back "If you went into a little place like this in a small town about the size of this one in France, would you ask the chef 'Is your food seasonal¹, local? Is it French?'" Of course not. The very idea is absurd.

 

译文：我经营着一家小餐馆。每次我一说到这，就会有些善意的人们表现得打心眼里感兴趣，他们会问“你餐馆是什么菜系的啊？” 好吧，我不能把它归于法国料理、意大利料理、印度料理、中国料理或者墨西哥料理任何一种，所以我会反问他“如果你在一个同样小的法国小镇进了一家同样小的餐馆，你会问大厨‘你们的菜是当季的么？当地的么？法式的么？’”当然不会吧。这个想法本身就很荒唐。
