 The federal government has put the spotlight¹ back on tax reform with the release of the discussion paper. The document came as broadening and increasing this GST and warns the dangers of bracket creep. It says Australia is far too relied on income and company taxes, but the assistant treasurer² George Shramburg told us earlier the government had no plan to lift the GST rate. 

 

 

You will need a broad political consensus³ to get any change to the GST. That would involve the support of all the states and terroteries as you know there are Labor⁴ states, as you know there are Labor parties not coming to the table.
