 Cervical cancer has declined in the US, however every year over 12,000 women are diagnosed and 4,000 die.

美国的宫颈癌患者有所减少，但是每年确诊人数仍然超过了1.2万人，4千人死亡。

The decline is largely due to Pap testing and follow-up.

宫颈癌患者的减少主要归功于对宫颈刮片的检查，以及复查工作。

Pap testing is no longer recommended every year.

Beginning at age 21, women should have a Pap test every three years.

从21岁起，女性应该每三年接受宫颈刮片检查。

At age 30, they can choose to get a Pap test and an HPV, or human papillomavirus, test and extend screenings to every five years.

Most women can stop getting screened after age 65 or after a total hysterectomy, unless it was related to cancer.
