Indigenous¹ leaders have described the 9th annual 'Closing the Gap' report' into indigenous disadvantage as 'extremely disappointing'. There's been an increase in homelessness and incarceration² with 63 percent of indigenous people behind bars convicted of violent crimes. 6 of the 7 targets which include education, employment and health are not being met.

Northern Territory police have found the body of a woman at Trephina Gorge³, 75 kilometres east of Alice Springs. Officers believe it's the body of 73 year old German tourist Gisela Thor who had been missing since Friday. It comes a day after emergency services located the body of her husband Wilfred.
