Foreign affairs minister Julie Bishop¹ says she has no doubts a refugee swap² deal between Australia and the US will go ahead. US officials abruptly³ halted their work and left the island a day after the US announced it had filled its refugee intake⁴ for the year. But the US says the officials will return and Ms Bishop says she's confident the agreement will be upheld.

A mystery surrounding human remains⁵ — found in Tasmania's wilderness⁶ last week — has almost been solved. The deceased man is thought to be Swiss national Thomas Munger who was on a trip around the world. It’s believed he died in 2010.
