Iran's Revolutionary Guard is claiming to have seized a British-flagged oil tanker¹ in the Strait of Hormuz. The British foreign office says it is urgently looking into the reports. It comes a day after the United States says it shot down an Iranian drone in the area. Tehran had previously² threatened to seize a British vessel³ in retaliation⁴ for the detention⁵ of an Iranian tanker, off Gibraltar earlier this month.
