 　　谈到尺寸，你肯定知道big和small。但是你是否也只知道big, small; very big, very small? 今天就跟Jenny, Spencer学学除了这两个词，还有什么词能用？

　　#1.Giant/Gigantic

　　"Giant" could be a noun or an adjective: "Giant" 可以是名词(巨人), 也可以是形容词

　　"Gigantic" is an adjective: “gigantic” 是个形容词，巨大的意思

　　怎么用？

　　This building is gigantic!这个楼好大呀！

　　You've got a gigantic dog! 这只狗好大呀!

　　#2.Massive

　　"Massive"：巨大的，但是用法比gigantic多；可以形容物体、人、钱

　　怎么用？

　　Shanghai is a massive city: 上海是一座巨型都市

　　Spencer is massive. He's got massive muscles: Spencer很壮, 肌肉超大块

　　Massive debts：大笔债务

　　Massive profits: 丰厚利润

　　特朗普特别爱用的词：huge!

　　怎么用？

　　和massive一样，用法也很广泛

　　China is a huge country: 中国很大

　　Shanghai is a huge city: 上海很大

　　#1.Tiny/Teeny-tiny

　　Tiny is smaller than "small": tiny比small更小

　　怎么用？

　　The newborn baby is so tiny: 新生儿好小噢

　　The kittens are so tiny: 宝宝小猫好小

　　My apartment is tiny: 我房子好小

　　Teeny-tiny is even tinier than "tiny": 比"tiny" 更小

　　It also sounds cutesy: 而且听起来很可爱

　　It's a prefix²: 是个常用前缀，微小的意思

　　Not really used on its own: 不太单独使用

　　和爸妈长得很像的孩子，也可以说mini me.

　　It's miniature version of me: 迷你版的“我”

　　主题公园里的缩小版景观，也可以说：

　　Petite: 娇小的

　　It's generally used to describe woman: 通常用来描述体态娇小的女性

　　一些品牌的衣服尺寸也会写petite。

　　Petite和X Small有什么区别？

　　Extra small might mean you are very thin, but tall: x small形容瘦，但是可能挺高的

　　Petite means overall small: petite是娇小，除了瘦，身高也不高

　　还有一种甜点：

　　petit four: 四色小甜点 (正式的法国大餐吃完时，会附上四小样; 注意在法语里是petit, 不是petite)

　　Compact: 紧凑

　　Commonly used for gadgets³ and cars, even apartments: 通常用来形容科技产品、汽车、房子

　　怎么用？

　　compact cars: 紧凑型汽车

　　compact apartment: 紧凑型公寓

　　If something is compact, there's no waste of space: 紧凑就是不浪费空间

　　#6.Cozy⁴

　　Cozy: 除了温馨，形容房子时，它还有一个扩展含义，就是非常小

　　When you see apartment listings, if it says "cozy", it mostly means it's very small: 租房广告上如果写房子很cozy, 基本上意思就是非常小

　　Spencer最后还说了一个词：

　　gangantuan /ɡɑ??ɡantj??n/: 庞大、特别大

　　You've got a massive vocabulary: 你的词汇量真大

1 savings   

n.存款，储蓄

参考例句：

• I can't afford the vacation,for it would eat up my savings.我度不起假，那样会把我的积蓄用光的。

2 prefix   

n.前缀；vt.加…作为前缀；置于前面

参考例句：

• We prefix "Mr."to a man's name.我们在男士的姓名前加“先生”。
• In the word "unimportant ","un-" is a prefix.在单词“unimportant”中“un”是前缀。

3 gadgets   

n.小机械，小器具（ gadget的名词复数 ）

参考例句：

adj.亲如手足的，密切的，暖和舒服的
