Now if you are into entertainment, you'll be having an absolutely crazy week as the hype-ometer goes pretty much off the scale with the release of the new James bond movie. Hurrah⁴! And the new Playstation 3! All in one week! So does Sony's latest offering have 'a licence to thrill' or is more of a 'Doctor No No'? Oh dear. Well anyway the other day I had the chance to give the console a bit of a test drive myself. The British gadget magazine, Stuff managed to secure three pre-launch models at a tech event they were hosting in London. The mag's editor is Tom Dunmore.

The graphics on it are absolutely stunning⁵. Even compared to the X-Box 360, it's an amazing looking game. The physics of it are fantastic too so you know you'll see people going over this rough terrain and really the cars and vehicles really moving with the terrain.

What about the game play then? How does that relate to other console games like say the X-Box 360?

What we are seeing here are games that are in development rather than finished games and yet they are very good to play. There is a lot of realism in the graphics but also in the way that they are actually used. We have one here where you fly a dragon and it actually uses the motion sensitive part of the controller. So, rather than having to think about the buttons you are pressing, you actually move the controller around. That's much more intuitive than you might get on say the X-Box 360. And finally in the middle we have got 'Resistance: Fall of Man' which is a first person shooter. It looks fantastic. I have to say though 'Gears of War' on the X-Box 360 is possibly better than that one. But it is early days yet. It's going get better and better and that what's so key about the Playstation 3. It's so powerful, there is so much untapped power there that in a couple of years we'll see absolutely astonishing games on it.

And by the way the name of that driving game on the Playstation 3 is 'Motor Storm'.

那游戏的可玩性如何呢？与其他游戏机游戏，比如X-Box360相比，它的操作性如何呢？

我们现在所看到的游戏并不是最终版本，仍然还在改进中，但现在它的操作性已经非常好了。画面很有真实感，就是在实际操作中也能感受到。我们玩的过程中有一个场面是骑在龙的身上在天上飞，这个场面就真的使用到了游戏机手柄上的动作微处理部分。所以，在玩这款游戏时，你要考虑并不是要按哪个键，而是要真的把整个游戏机手柄转过来。这比你在玩其他游戏――比如说X-Box360时的感觉更为直观。最后我要说的是，我们在中间部分有一幕"抵抗：人的堕落"，说的是一个第一射手。这个画面看起来棒极了，我不得不说，虽然X-Box360中的"战争的恐惧"可能会更好，但你要记住，这个游戏还在早期制作阶段。它会一点一点地改进，然后变得更好，这正是Playstation3成功的秘诀。它是如此强劲，而且还有许多力量尚未被发掘出来，相信几年以后，我们会看到绝对令人震惊的游戏。

另外要说的是，Playstation3这个速度游戏的名字叫做"摩托风暴"。
