President Biden has made his way from England, where the G-7 leaders gathered this weekend, and is now in Brussels for a NATO summit.

The G-7 meeting was the first one held in person in two years.

It concluded with a traditional pact¹, this one a pledge to work together to combat the pandemic and climate change and a rising China.

In a meeting with Jens Stoltenberg at the NATO summit, President Biden said the coalition² was essential to America and praised the secretary-general for his leadership.

So before we get to the specifics of what was agreed to here, what was the overall tone and tenor³ of this meeting like between the leaders of these seven nations?

So it was friendly, and it was different. This is a new president, and he was welcomed.

President Biden was welcomed by these other leaders of leading democracies in a way that they never felt comfortable with former President Donald Trump⁴.

And at a concluding news conference yesterday, Biden said this.
