The organisation¹ for Economic Cooperation and Development has released its long-awaited plan for a tax clampdown on multinationals².

The 15-point plan is designed to prevent companies like Google and Mcdonalds from exploiting differences in national tax regimes.

The OECD says the loopholes allow multinationals to escape up to 240 billion dollars in taxes a year.

The scheme will be submitted to G20 finance ministers next week.

It's the first Tuesday of october which means markets will be closely watching the reserve bank meeting today.

Economists³ surveyed by A-A-P and bloomberg expect the R-B-A to leave the cash rate unchanged, with some predicting there won't be a rate cut until 20-16.

Last month, reserve bank governor Glenn Stevens said he was "pretty content" to maintain rates at current levels, with the falling dollar keeping inflation lower.
